- Interval Training On The
Road
Simple tips on how to stick to your interval
training program while on the road
Interval training is a training form that you can easily keep up even
if you are travelling a lot.
Demanding very little organisation and equipment to fulfill the
purpose, you can do your interval trainings sessions almost anywhere.
Here are some examples of activities that can be used during the high
intensity intervals. You will need
a
way to time the intervals but other than that the only
requirements are mentioned beside the activity:
| Higher
intensity activity |
Requirements
|
| Skipping |
Rope |
| Stairs |
Staircase or outdoor stairs |
| (Split) box jumps |
Step or any place with a difference in height
about 25 cm / 10 inches |
| Burpess |
2 sq. meters/ 18 sq. feet of floor space,
lawn or the like |
| High knees |
2 sq. meters/ 18 sq. feet of floor space,
lawn or the like |
| Jumping Jacks |
2 sq. meters/ 18 sq. feet of floor space,
lawn or the like |
| Side-to-side jumping |
2 sq. meters/ 18 sq. feet of floor space,
lawn or the like |
Any of these activities will work well for the high intensity parts of
your interval training session. For the recovery part / lower intensity
interval you can either walk or jog or walk or jog in place, step up
and down at a slow pace. If you choose to do the stairs, the
walking back down will be part of the recovery.
